FTPC Philosophy of Ministry

God's purpose for humanity is to glorify Him and enjoy Him forever, an end reached only by God's grace given through the person and work of Jesus Christ. Therefore, every person needs to recognize and accept their absolute dependency upon God, surrender control of their lives to Him, and through confession and repentance of their sin become whole in Jesus Christ.

Believing that Jesus Christ has been, is, and always will be the Head of the Church; we are committed at Foster Tukwila Presbyterian Church to follow him to the glory of God as He directs us by the Holy Spirit. We affirm that He is at work in and through us to accomplish His purposes. We sense at this time that He is leading us to work out this calling through developing wholesome, Christ honoring relations in five areas:

Picture
  • As a PRAYING congregation developing a growing relationship with the Lord, individually and collectively, and learning to listen to and obey Him.
  • As a WORSHIPPING congregation relating to God through praise, surrender, and prayer in the name of Jesus.
  • As a HEALING congregation where caring and prayer in the name of Jesus enable people to experience wholeness in Christ.
  • As an EQUIPPING congregation where people serve the Lord through the study of God's Word, through teaching, and through the development of their gifts.
  • As a DEPLOYING congregation where people understand their call to bring unsaved persons to faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
